This just in from the Captain:

4/8/10...."Today our afternoon guests aboard Lord Hornblower, were treated to a very special event.  We  got  to view a  very  large blue whale  just  off the  coast  of san diego.  Our  guests were thrilled  at the size and beauty of the  largest animal in the world.  The whale  was almost  the size of  Lord Hornblower,  it  was about  115 ft. in length.  The  whale was  off  of  the  Sunset Cliff's area about  4 miles out.  @ W32.43'.6,/ N.117.23.5." Reported by Captain Bill Reese

San Diego Whale Watching Cruises Hornblower Cruises featured on the NBC news!

The trip was a blast! We saw several groups of whales, Navy ships, a submarine and much much more. Captain Rick was great too.

Knowing it was early in the year for Whale Migration, what a treat it was to see a grey Whale. Capt. Bill and his crew were very professional and very respectful of the whale and very informative. We enjoyed it very much.
