May 15th Annual Pet Rescue Day on the Bay
Free Harbor Cruises on Hornblower for Dogs with Donations of Towels for Animal Shelter

SAN DIEGO – On Thursday, May 15, 2008, Hornblower Cruises & Events will present the eighth annual Pet Rescue Day on the Bay event to benefit the Helen Woodward Animal Center. By donating a gently used blanket or towel, you and your dog cruise FREE on any one-Hour Harbor Cruise or Sea Lion Adventure on the Big Bay aboard Hornblower. Items will be collected from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at 1066 North Harbor Drive on the San Diego Embarcadero. Last year Hornblower Cruises collected thousands of blankets and towels and had hundreds of attendees with their dogs take advantage of the free cruises. The event is sponsored in part by PETCO, Frosty Paws® Frozen Treats for Dogs, The W Hotel and the Port of San Diego.

John Van Zante, Public Relations Manager, Helen Woodward Animal Center said, “We think this event is special, it brings people together in an effort to make the lives of the orphaned animals better, and it is fun for the pets to be allowed out on Hornblower’s boat too.”

The Pet Rescue Day on the Bay is open to anyone, simply bring a donation of a new or gently used blanket or towel for the animals and in return you will receive a free ticket for a one-hour harbor cruise to use any time.  Donors will also receive a gift bag from PETCO with samples of Frosty Paws® Frozen Treats for Dogs and coupons (while supplies last).

Dog-friendly cruises will be at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm ONLY

Dogs Cruise free on Pet Day on the Bay only on May 15th! Dogs must be on a leash and are allowed to ride along on a one-hour cruise. One hour Big Bay cruises departures are at 10 am, 11:15 am, 12:30 pm, 1:45 pm, 3 pm and 4:15 pm. You’ll see the Sea Lions on the North Bay route at 10 am, 12:30 pm and 3 pm and cruise under the Coronado Bridge on the South Bay route at 11:15 am, 1:45 pm and 4:15 pm.
