Hornblower Cruises & Events takes pride in running some of the most recognizable vessels sailing California’s waters today. The San Francisco fleet includes the San Francisco Belle, a landmark vessel of San Francisco bay and largest private charter yacht on the West coast. Berkeley is home to the Captain Hornblower, one of the two boats in the original fleet. Wild Goose is a former minesweeper restored by John Wayne for his personal use and now used for charter events in Newport Beach. The Zumbrota, named by Charles Ringling after the largest elephant in capacity, is a part of the Marina del Rey fleet. San Diego’s newest addition, the Inspiration, at a 1,000-person capacity, is the largest charter yacht in Southern California.
Each port offers unique and enticing public cruises. There are nightly dinner dance cruises, weekend champagne brunches, narrated luncheons, whale and dolphin watching adventures, harbor excursions and more. Public cruises are the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, a memorable vacation activity or just the perfect special meal. Hornblower’s teams of professionally trained chefs prepare all the food fresh on board the vessels for every meal. They use seasonal ingredients and, when possible, buy locally and sustainably grown products. Our teams work with clients to create customized menus to serve that event’s needs.
Hornblower feels strongly about giving back to the communities that have supported the company throughout the years. In addition to supporting local charities through fundraising and donations, Hornblower has hosted fundraising events and sponsors annual “Dog Day” cruises for dogs and their owners to go cruising on the bay to benefit local humane societies.
