Hornblower Yachts Selected as Best Proposal for Award of the Contract at Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Ferry Operation
Service Will Operate Under New Business Unit Statue Cruises
San Francisco – The National Park Service (NPS) announced today that Hornblower Yachts, Inc. has been selected as the best proposal to provide the ferry transportation to the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island. Hornblower Yachts has selected the name Statue Cruises for the division of the company that will operate this service.
Hornblower was selected in a competitive bid process. Companies interested in providing the service were asked to submit proposals to the NPS by April 29, 2007. Hornblower was selected from a pool of six qualified proposals. Statue Cruises is expected to commence the 10 year contract as early as October 2007.
